Just Like BET's The Game...Showtimes Soul Food Might Be Making It's Way Back To TV
Since BET revamped"The Game" and has already become a huge hit, other series are rising from the ashes and "Soul Food" is the latest to be considered for resurrection. According to MediaBistro, 20th Century Fox is considering bringing the popular TV series back on air. Still in the early stages of development, executives are said to be revamping the series for a new generation.
Soul Food: The Series had five successful seasons on Showtime and helped further careers of the cast which included Malinda Williams, Vanessa A. Williams, Rockmond Dunbar, Darrin Dewitt Henson, Aaron Meeks, Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker, who also found love and marriage in real-life.
The series tackled all types of topics relevant to the African-American experience through multi-faceted characters Kenny, Lem, Damon, Teri, Bird and Maxine. No word on if the original cast will come back or if they might recast. We like this!!
