Please send the flowers on JULY 10th...once we get 100+ we can give this information to media. I am sure this will be NEWS in all channels. From past 8 years ( i am in US from past 8 years) no one did like this.
As of I know this is not crime or Illigal and it costs nothing when compare with the amt we paid to to DOCS, LAWYERS.

Yes that is a pretty known fact that people have been given 221(G) slips and made to wait for 3-6 months by consulate. I know a friend who had to undergo name check clearance that took 4 months at Ottawa consulate. He came back to US on parole and after 4 months when they approved his visa he again had to go to Canada get stamped and return on H1. It was a hassle but least he had backup parole that helped. But he did not face any issues at POE for this.
Yes, there is truth to this.
I personally know two guys. One is my co-worker and the other one is my room mate from University.
While their Visaa were not denied, they have been subject to something called "Administrative Processing", which can take anywhere from 2 to 6 months. No employer is going to wait for you for 6 months.

Employment-Based Applications
If you are filing for lawful permanent resident status based on an offer of permanent employment in the United States, you should submit your I-485 to:
USCIS Nebraska Service Center
P.O. Box 87485
Lincoln, NE 68501-7485
This includes an EB I-485 if you are filing a Form I-140, Petition for Alien Worker, concurrently with your I-485, or an I-485 filing based on a pending or an approved Form I-140.
can we apply for I485 at the local USCIS office in person?

Even before USCIS released the data some of the Donors mentioned that there is discrepancy in the FOIA data and core is expect to release the data to everyone once they receive confirmation from USCIS. We believe in IV. USCIS would not have released this data unless IV and thousands of its members have put their efforts on FOIA action item. There allways will be someone like you to complain about IV like this. So nobody cares what your post says.
1. They had to post the 485 pending list sooner than they anticipated because USCIS "one up"ped them by posting the info on their website and hence they were not able to play "God" with that info anymore.
2. They got my ID and IP banned but still I came back.
Ban me all you want but my posts will resonate this forum for ever you corrupt "Core" scumbags.

May be thats true... our people dont deserve any negative feedback at all... my only intention is to keep aware of what i heard , if this indeed makes sense and if we can do something we could do it. i belive and wish these PR officers are not 100% aware but not to rest till august second week. and that too mine 140 is at TSC , i believe it takes more time to get Receipted. huh..

I hope that in a few days it is explained on the IRS website and also what they will
do with ITINs.
Here it is:
http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=177937,00.html
Check the links on this page. The rules are:
If you are filing jointly both filers need a SSN to qualify. For the kids those which have
a SSN qualify (in case the parents do) and the others not.
A similar rule holds for the earned income credit. However, in this case the SSN
(for the parents and the qualifying kids) must also be valid for employment.
For this reason an H4 visa holder cannot get a SSN for the earned income credit
bacause it doesn't help him.
So the SSA should issue SSNs (not valid for employment) for legal residents
and their resident dependents who could profit from the tax credit.
If you filed the 2007 return with an ITIN one should amend the return with the
SSNs. This is possible in the case of the earned income credit.
The only problem I see is to convince the SSA to follow this logic.

Rational Discussion: Going back to one's home country
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets have a very rational discussion, evaluating pros and cons of going back to one's home country. Please, please, please do not post emotional, out-of-context comments. Restrict the comments to your personal situation/career in a very objective manner, how retrogression has affected your career, how going back to your home country may/may not be the right choice, why staying back in US may/may not be the right choice?
Based on the rational discussion here, we would be able to guide the next generation of potential immigrants (your friends, relatives, fellow-country men and women) or give information to the press back in our home country to present the correct picture of the current US immigration system, benefits/down-falls, etc.
*************************************************
Updating pros & cons of going back to your home country - based on feedback:
Pros:
1) Booming economies of countries like China, India; professionals have more opportunities in these economies
2) A place where you feel at home; large extended family back home
Cons:
1) Culture change - especially for US-born or US-raised kids to adapt to the home country culture
2) Losing out on SS benefits, if leaving US prior to completing 10 years
3) Quality of life and a relatively fair job culture, work-place and environment in US

Thanks for sharing friends! I know there may be some cases that might have had some trouble (but unless we know the facts behind it - it's hard to believe the rumors)..I normally take all possible precautions while traveling but never stopped doing so.. Hearing from live examples makes it to feel better..
I even checked with my immigration department to see if anyone traveled recently had any issues and they were like "what issue?"...
My wife came through fine from Atlanta Air port today. It took her @10min in secondary inspection with no questions asked.
I use ATL, GA or DFW,TX as POE almost every week since I am working in an international project in Latin America. I have both H1B and AP but I always use H1B. And I don't think any of the immigration officers ever asked me more than one question (such as.. who do you work for? or how long have you been outside USA? ) before they stamped my passport/I94.

I have already found out today, SS office refuse to issue non-work SSN to my children, they don't recognize that tax rebate is a benefit. Actually, the guy in SS office was very rude, he did not even allow me to state my reason, keep shouting "H4 can not get SSN"
We should make action together to fight for our right. Send emails and call your congressman and senator. Make IRS recognize this is a Federal benefit and if IRS can issue the letter, we should be able to get the SSN.
I already called my congressman and senator, waiting for their response.

I just called his office. Spoke with a representative. He said the Congressman opposes this. Can I request someone that lives in his district to make this call and further case?
Admins, should these local callers bring up the topic of Federal and State tax contribution?
It is a shame that such a non controversial measure is being opposed.
Thanks!

Alright friends, so we now have a lead item on Times of India on this effort.

Can we now have some of the Nays turn into Ayes? We now have proof that this effort is attracting media's attention, we now have proof that it is viable. Can we please make it a smashing success by getting great numbers?

I appreciate your response and also for taking time to criticize my post. But please put some though into what I have mentioned in my pre-condition.
1) Better weather means there is a chance of higher participation. Do you want this rally to be a very low attendance event incase the day you picked im March turned out to be freezing? People coming in from far of places may have flight delays, cancellation, etc,. Do you want members who attend this rally with young kids to suffer in the cold when you can do this same rally in better weather if you wait for 4-5weeks more? One thing you should understand, with the economy in this bad shape our voice will get drowned if we don't show up in really big numbers. Even if our voice is heard there is going to be nothing happening as fast as we expect it to be. Economy would be the primary concern in the minds of the president, congress and the american people. Being high skilled I guess we can make wise and statergic decisions too.
2) T-shirts with something printed on it looks cheap. Sorry, for being so blunt about it. We don't go to work in that kind of attire ( atleast the folks who work in the east coast). It is not necessary that you need to sell only IV T-shirts to raise money for IV. You can do better, how about IV badges, IV pins which can be worn on your business attire while attending the rally?
3) No one said rallys are cheap. But rasing money and organizing a failed rally would be the worst outcome.
FYI - I haven't left america. I am pretty sure I will get my GC, no matter what, within 2 yrs. So rally or no rally doesn't really affect me personally. I am saying this because you brought up about me leaving america. I know my maximum wait time for GC. Do you know yours?
I know you are a hard campaigner for IV, it is great you are doing a service to the immigrant community. But trying to take people on without giving a thought to what they are saying doesn't win you any friends nor your purpose any good.
From you current post and your previous posts I feel you are pretty young and in-experienced with the ways of this world. Slow down and think a little bit more and and don't dismiss people and their ideas based your preconceived opinions. If you consider this you will be much more successful in everything you do. Good luck and God bless.
Last but not least first take some time to fix your fake profile.
Gjoe, I thought you have already left America. See http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14937
You seem to be going in an opposite direction sometimes on the forum. I do not know why.
As Gjoe said, I am willing to participate only if these conditions are met:
1) Let us create an action iten for everyone asking USCIS not to process gjoe's application even if date is current if it is a cold weather. Jgoe prefers warm weather and thus USCIS should stop working for him in cold weather.
2) I will only take part ifeveryone wears IV Tshirt. Weariing the same Tshirt with IV logo makes us look unified and gives us more publicity. Moreover, if you buy IV Tshirt, IV will also get money
3) I do not think rally is cheap. It will require lot of funds. Let us first see how much we can collect via a drive and all of us will contribute to it. Once we have a good response, only then we should do a rally. I can contribute more to this drive as I have contributed in the past. But want to see if everyone else can put their wallets where their mouths are.
